| Guidelines for your move |
| We have put together a list of things you should consider and what you should avoid to ensure a smooth moving process. |
| 1 - Protect valuable items with a removal’s specialist |
| You will find that some of your items will need additional care, whether that be due to it being fragile, expensive or of high sentimental worth. By bringing in a professional you can prioritise your valuables to ensure their safe arrival. |
| 2. Use your imagination |
| When packing your items, yourself it may be worth while in looking at inventive ways of packing your belongings such as putting items in any suitcases, bags, or laundry baskets. You could even use pillows, blankets and cushions to protect your belongings instead of using bubble wrap. |
| 3. Keep your belongings grouped together ready to unpack |
| By splitting your packing into groups of boxes for specific rooms it allows you to easily unpack your belongings once you reach your new property. The first items you will want to pack are items that you will not needed straightaway after the move and leave the essentials last to ensure these are easy to access. |
| 4. Don’t overweigh boxes |
| If your boxes are filled with heavy items, it could mean that the boxes may tear or split leading to the items inside spilling out onto the floor and so causing damage to the items as well as potentially even hurting the person carrying the box. With heavy items we would always advise that you fill the remainder of the box with lighter items. |
| 5. Don’t leave empty space in boxes |
| By filling the boxes you ensure that you are minimising the number of trips you will need so saving you time and trips. Also, partly filled boxes will likely have items inside that are less secure as there is room for the items to crash around the box. |
| 6. Some items cannot be moved on removal trucks |
| There are a list of different items that you will find that removal companies will not move that are deemed as hazardous, which include fireworks, paint, and fuel. |
